The new Kia Sportage 2017 has many things going for it. It is the 4th generation iteration of the model and is sporty and compact as well as an excellent crossover that is going to make its debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show. It has a new look that is inspired from sports cars and its transmission is also very sporty. The best thing about this offering from Kia is its GT line trim level.
Kia Sportage 2017 – Exterior and Interior
We find the looks of the new Kia Sportage 2017 to be very interesting. Everything about the vehicle is impressive starting from its front and going all the way back to the rear. The fascia is new and similar to that of the Macan from Porsche. The headlamps are nicely shaped and they also bulge out nicely. The hood is well sculpted. There are nicely designed fog lights that punctuate the front of the vehicle and make the vehicle look very much like a Porsche.
When you look at the Sportage from the front you will immediately notice a nice and impressive grille that is very prominent. The large grille dwarfs the headlights which appear to be rather small as well as cross-eyed. The rest of the exteriors are rather bland while at the back the Sportage has its distinctive taillights that are now designed to look simple.
The Sportage is longer than before but it has the same height and width as the earlier model. The wheelbase is longer by 30mm and this will ensure that the cabin has a little more space to accommodate passengers and include more number of appendages. The suspension is new and stiff and offers more control as well as allows for a lower rear cargo floor. The nice thing about the Sportage is its hands-free access that automatically opens the liftgate at the back as soon as the driver stands close to the rear of the vehicle and has the smart key transponder on his or her person.

This new transmission is also designed to improve fuel economy figures for the Sportage and it also gives a sporty feel when driving the vehicle.
A 1.6-liter petrol engine powers up the European version of the Sportage. This engine delivers 132 horsepower and which are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as well as front-wheel drive. The carmaker also plans to offer diesel engines like a 1.7-liter turbo diesel that produces 115 horsepower and 207 pound feet of twisting force.
