Honda is a huge name in the motor world and has been producing top quality vehicles for years. Understandably, therefore, there is always a lot of excitement surrounding a new release, and soon we expect to see the upgraded 2018 Honda HR-V. The original model of this car was released way back in the 1990s, and several versions have been available since.
Whilst there isn’t much in the way of major change from the previous version, there are a few upgrades in terms of ease of use and comfort which are expected to make an appearance, whilst several new color options in addition.
Let’s take a closer look at the minimal changes you can expect in this already popular model.
2018 Honda HR-V – Exterior and Interior Changes
The exterior of this new, updated model is not expected to be hugely different from that seen previously, however it does have a slightly sportier appearance, especially towards the front. Again, you can expect a two-door model, with a new length of around 169.1”.
The changes are much more interior than exterior, although these are still quite minimal. The technology and comfort have been upgraded, and now you can hook up your smartphone to the workings of the car, and even open the sunroof with your phone. The touch screen is 7” long and controls various issues with the car, including air conditioning. It is a spacious interior, and can accommodate up to five people comfortably. In terms of interior appearance, this is a classy and elegant choice.

2018 Honda HR-V – Engine & Performance
The engine is upgraded although again, not hugely. There are two options here, for the North American market you will see a 1.8-liter engine with a maximum output that reaches up to 141 hp. This incorporates 127 lb-ft of torque and a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT automatic.
The European version of 2018 Honda HR-V is very similar, with a 1.5-liter engine, and a maximum output reaching 120 hp, and 115 lb-ft of torque.
This is more than enough to power the car effectively, and in terms of fuel consumption, it really depends on many factors, but you are looking at a region of 27 mpg for urban/city journeys, with a manual gearbox shift.
2018 Honda HR-V – Price and Release Date
The price is unknown currently but is expected to remain unchanged, at around $20,000. We are expecting to see 2018 Honda HR-V on the market at the beginning of 2018, perhaps towards the end of 2017.
Due to the small, zippy nature of this car, it is best suited to those who drive short distances in and around the urban area. The high-tech performance and sporty appearance fit in well with this description.
2018 Honda HR-V – Conclusion:
Honda’s HR-V series has been hugely popular since day one, so if you are a fan of this particular series and you are looking for an upgrade for whatever reason, then sticking with what you know could be a good option. There is little hugely different about this model, however, it does have upgrades on the previous option, and therefore keeps it up to date and fresh. The price is also expected to remain unchanged, which makes it an attractive option.
As we have said in this review, there are no major changes in this particular model, however, it is a model which is built to last and one which has won many a fan over the years. For that reason alone, this new upgrade will certainly be a popular one.
