Skoda will make its first showing of the hotly anticipated 2017 Kodiaq at the Paris Motor Show as well as the Geneva Motor show later this year. The Czech made 2017 Skoda Kodiaq is designed to compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour. The Czech manufacturer has made sure that the exterior design of this SUV oozes luxury and that the interior will be lavish, comfortable and functional for SUV lovers. The power rain is also expected to be above average as Skoda looks to make a noticeable impact in the SUV market.
2017 Skoda Kodiaq – Interior and Exterior Design
What has been seen so far is that the new Kodiaq will have many of the characteristics found in most standard SUVs like a high driving position, a bigger wheelbase or chassis, body cladding, fog lamps and others. The actual wheelbase will be 2,790mm and the height will be 1,680 mm while the length and the width will measure 4,700mm and 1,910mm respectively. Other features will include colored bumpers, a chrome-plated grille, an electric sunroof, LED taillights and LED headlamps. The side profile has a robust touch highlighted by the tornado line running from the headlamps across the entire profile. It has a softer silhouette than most SUVs but has features like the mean looking grille and the elliptical double exhaust pipes that make it look sportier.
The Skoda Kodiaq 2017 is a seven-seater with three rows of seats. One row can be folded to make more space available. The interior will reflect the exterior in luxury and looks. The clean organized design that can be seen from the outside will dictate the interior aesthetics. The cabin is designed to be comfortable for both the driver and the passengers. The seats will be upholstered in rich luxurious Napa leather. There is a dual zone automatic air conditioning system to keep the interior climate comfortable. The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq will be fitted with an infotainment system with a touch screen pad fitted for every passenger. In addition to that the car comes equipped with a multi-functioning steering wheel with buttons to control certain functions allowing the driver to do other things without having to move his hand from the wheel. The steering wheel also has telescopic adjustments and tilts to suit the driver’s needs.
2017 Skoda Kodiaq – Engine and Performance
The Skoda Kodiaq will be available with either 1.8 TSI petrol engine or a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine mated to either a 6-speed or 7-speed manual transmission. There is a likelihood of a hybrid system that uses a 1.4-liter petrol engine with an electric motor combined to produce 138 horsepower. The 2.0-liter TDI engine is the same engine found in a range of Audi models as well as Volkswagen. It is likely to produce 181 hp. As far as efficiency goes, the 2017 Skoda Kodiaq is expected to achieve 15 to 20 kilometers for every liter of fuel.
