The latest information and spy photos of the 2017 Cadillac XT5 have already excited many auto insiders, car experts and buyers. Cadillac has plans to refurbish its entire lineup in the coming years and the Mid-Size crossover is expected to come as a replacement to the SRX and likely will be unveiled at the annual LA Auto Show.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Engine Specs
The engine on the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 is to be a 3.6 liter V-6 as is standard in most mid-size crossovers. The vehicle’s predecessor, the SRX, still has the same engine. The latest engine model upgraded would be a refreshed powertrain and an updated V6 capable of generating much more power than the 308 horsepower and 265 lb. /ft. of torque the current model delivers. It may be possible that a smaller turbocharged v6 2.7 liter engine might be an option on the lineup, if not in the initial release then likely later on. The new model will be offered in a six speed automatic transmission and in front and all-wheel drive that is likely not to change in the present term.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Exterior and Interior
While official photos have not been released, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 will probably be a more attractive car as far the exterior design is concerned. While the new model car’s predecessor the SRX is a car that looks good, in the category of luxury mobiles it is rather bland. However the 2017 Cadillac XT5 will be more contemporary and perkier in an effort to elevate from the predecessor’s reputation and appeal to the next level. In keeping with Cadillac’s future vehicle design plans, more upswept and thinner headlamps can be expected as are more updated rear end tailgate and upright grille with the signature vertical tail lights that are becoming more or less of a trademark of the brand’s newer models.
On the interior some changes are likely although probably not major. The crossover might have all new materials and a revised cabin while still remaining spacious and luxurious as it has been in the past. Previous models have donned the Raven Sapele wood trim, now likely some other fancy wood type will be in place of the old. The base models probably will have the same leatherette seating, top models meanwhile are most likely to have full leather seats. The standard 8 inch display will remain as has been as will most connectivity options such as USB ports, Bluetooth power outlets. Navigation systems will remain optional on all models except top tier models on which it will be a standard feature. Bose eight and ten speaker audio surround systems will be standard and upgradable as preferred by the buyers. The top models of this wonderful car will offer a DVD rear seat system with Blu-ray compatibility and dual eight inch screens.
2017 Cadillac XT5 – Release Date and Price
The expected fuel economy numbers on the 2017 Cadillac XT5 probably will remain similar just like the current SRX. Likely the mpg number will be roughly about 17/24 or 16/23 city and highway depending whether you have front or the available all-wheel drive option. When the new 2017 Cadillac XT5 comes to dealer showrooms in the latter part of next year or in early 2017, the prices likely will start at around $38,000 at the entry level without upgrade features while premium upgraded versions will sell in the price range of $50,000.
